Our work with the children falls into 3 (over-lapping) phases:
1. 'Emergency' phase
From our first contact with the children on the street (in an ‘emergency’ situation). To the care they receive in the day-centre (food, medical, recreational, counselling etc). Through to the stage we reunite them with family or find them another home
- when they are at least safe from the dangers of street-life.
2. 'Educational' phase
The period of 12-24 months after re-unification during which we will support the child’s vocational or academic education – and also progress the child’s reconciliation with their family and community.
The process of starting to build hope for the future.
3. 'Sustainability' phase
The ‘exit-phase’ of the project whereby we try and ‘lock-in’ our achievements with the child and family. Mentally preparing them for life without the project’s support. Helping them prepare financially. Our goal is that the
children and their families can lead hopeful lives, free of dependence on our support.
