May 2009
- 200 people attend 3 introductory evenings at Kensington Palace.
- Hugely encouraging responses to Kensington Palace evenings
- Fresh monthly standing orders.
- Generous ‘straight’ donations.
- Interest in visiting Sierra Leone (in fact several have since booked!) & lots of other ‘help’
responses - ranging from interest in joining our management committee, to approaching
employers & trusts for donations, to promoting SCoSL in schools, to pledging to spread the
word amongst friends and families, to admin help, to events ideas & help – and more!
April 2009
- SCoSL holds its first ‘mini-launch’ event at Kensington Palace after the London Marathon.
- The SCoSL film is shown for the first time
- SCoSL launches its web-site
- Bertie and Emma Dannatt run the London Marathon for SCoSL, raising a fabulous sum for the renovation of the Children’s Clinic in Makeni.
- SCoSL takes its first one-off and subscription donations into its bank account since receiving registered status from the Commission.
March 2009
- SCoSL receives its registration from the Charity Commission – no. 1128536
- Bertie and Emma Dannatt hold the first designated SCoSL fund-raising event in Putney!
- Emma Dannatt, Peter Hall and James Kennan become the first supporters of SCoSL to visit Street Child Makeni
December 2008
- Street Child Makeni launches
- Dr Roland Kargbo, CEO of HANCi, addresses small groups of potential SCoSL supporters in London
November 2008
- SCoSL formally registered with companies house, application made to the Charity Commission.
