A bit about James…
James was staying with his aunt but was abused and neglected. Due to his maltreatment he left and has been living on the streets for two years.
James wants to study. Yet he has no one to pay for his school fees and no possibility
of earning enough money to pay for it himself. He says that he is trying to find a means
To pay for his education, the staff fear this will lead to stealing and gambling.
John, Age : 13yrs
A bit about John…
Both of John’s parents are blind and beg on the streets in order to feed themselves. They barely survive from day to day and therefore are not able to take care of their son. John was enrolled in school but has since dropped out because there is no one to pay for his school fees
Marie, Age : 13yrs
A bit about Marie…
Most of the time Marie lives on the streets and has been doing so for the last 2 years.
She was maltreated by her father, and therefore chose to leave the family home.
From time to time she will stay at her grandmother’s place.
Mohamed, Age : 13yrs
A bit about Mohamed…
Mohamed has been sleeping on the streets for about the last 2 or so months. He used to attend school and has nearly completed primary school, but dropped out after his father’s death and other family issues that arose in the household.
When his mother remarried, his stepfather did not want him staying at the house. He then took to the streets, struggling daily to find food.
He sometimes stays with his grandmother and will go out begging on the streets with her, but she is old and unable to take proper care of him.
Momoh, Age : 16yrs
A bit about Momoh…
Momoh used to live with his grandmother but after being abused and maltreated by her, he took to the streets. He has been living rough for about one year.
He no longer attends school, as there is no one to pay for his fees. He supports himself by doing odd jobs at the market such as washing plates and carrying loads back and forth for people.
