Placements with Street Child Makeni
This would be a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 10 weeks.
You would join the project team as a volunteer member of staff and become involved in a wide-range of the project's daily activities.
The precise contribution you will make will depend on your skills, experience and ideas.
For many people their major contribution will be:
- Helping organise 'pre return to school' classes or extra lessons for the children returning to school;
OR
- Helping organise 'fun' activities in the Centre - sport, drama, art etc
In terms of accommodation - those on shorter-term placements may prefer to stay in a hotel or guest-house; whilst for those staying for longer we will arrange accommodation in town either with other volunteers or a family associated with the project.
