Why Sierra Leone?

There are four key reasons why our organisation was created to
work specifically with street children in Sierra Leone:  
  1. Sierra Leone is the poorest country in the world.
    • Where else can be in greater need of help?
  2. Sierra Leone has an endemic street child crisis.
    • War, poverty and aspects of cultural practice combine to create an almost
      ‘perfect’ storm in terms of ‘pre-conditions’ for street child crisis.
  3. Tackling ‘street child crisis’ is a key developmental and security step for Sierra Leone.
