Ebola Crisis Update

Premiership footballers launch #KickEbolaOut campaign

Martin Forsyth

Alongside Street Child's stunning Ebola Benefit at the Honourable Artillery Company in London, our new #KickEbolaOut campaign was launched this weekend by Premiership footballers, Nathaniel Chalobah and Curtis Davies.

Over the past few weeks, Street Child has been working with Chelsea FC and England U-21 player Chalobah - who was born in Sierra Leone - on the all new #KickEbolaOut campaign. Kick Ebola Out aims to raise funds and awareness for Street Child's Ebola Orphan Appeal by asking members of the public to upload a film of themselves across their social media platforms attempting a footy skill - or simply kicking a football - then nominating their friends to do the same along with a donation to our appeal.

You can see Chalobah's original film here. Since the campaign's launch, after being nominated by Chalobah, Hull FC defender Curtis Davies - who is also of Sierra Leonean heritage - took up the call and released his own film. We were also given the opportunity to interview both Chalobah and Davies about why they wanted to get behind #KickEbolaOut, which you can see at
this dedicated section of our website

...and to show that it's not just footballers that can #KickEbolaOut, TV personality and Street Child patron Nick Hewer recorded his own film live from Street Child's Ebola Benefit. You can watch it here.

To keep up with the action, follow #KickEbolaOut - or, better still: visit the website to get involved and show off your own skills in support of children orphaned by Ebola.
