Street Child is a UK charity, established in 2008, that aims to create educational opportunity for some of the most vulnerable children in West Africa.

International Volunteering

the Street Child international volunteering programme offers valuable experience in the international development sector helping to empower some of the most vulnerable children in the world

"I had an immersive and fascinating experience into the workings of the development world. It was very exciting to be part of the process where Street Child is really starting to establish itself in Nepal, and having the opportunity to research and get to know our beneficiaries and brilliant partner organisations."

- Lily Wakeley, Nepal Volunteer 2016

There are several ways to become a Street Child International Volunteer. Our short and long-term volunteer placements offer a unique and meaningful experience, working alongside our local staff at projects across Sierra Leone and Nepal. Regardless of background and experience, Street Child International Volunteering programme considers applicants from all walks of life. Most importantly the programme is seeking individuals who can meet our ever-changing needs on the ground. For more information, read our brochure

The Teaching Training programme is a unique opportunity, for teachers of all abilities, to make a difference to thousands of children's lives in Sierra Leone. Our goal is to improve the standard of teaching across our Every Child in School (ECiS) projects, in Sierra Leone. It will be challenging, rewarding and exciting. Whilst out there you will have time to explore and visit our projects, have the opportunity to get involved in hands-on education work, travel to some of the most remote parts of Sierra Leone and meet other UK teachers keen to develop and share resources. For more information, read our brochure

Applications for the Street Child Teacher Training Programme will open in January.
