Why run for Street Child?

From the dusty paths of Makeni, Sierra Leone to the iconic scenery of the London Marathon runners have helped raise millions for Street Child to support thousands of the world's most marginalised children to go to school. Your fundraising helps Street Child reach more incredibly vulnerable children so that they can go to school and learn. You can read more about how your running is supporting our work here.

If there's one thing Street Child knows, its running. We've been organising our very own Sierra Leone Marathon for seven years now so we know what it takes to get you across the line!

As part of #TeamStreetChild you'll get:

Street Child runners will get dedicated support for both running and fundraising - we're here to ensure you have the best run of your life. From training plans and fundraising resources to help you smash your target to cheer stations, the best-looking vest on race day and a post-race party we want to celebrate this iconic run, and your incredible support, with you.

Most importantly, though, from wintry training runs and carb-loading to crossing that finish line know that as part of team Street Child every step you take, and every pound you raise, is helping some of the world's most vulnerable children to go to school and learn.
