Street Child announces new celebrity Ambassador Tyger Drew Honey
Outnumbered star Tyger Drew Honey has joined the Street Child family as our newest celebrity ambassador.
The actor will raise awareness of the charity's work and help promote funding initiatives to help those worst affected by the Ebola virus.
Tyger Drew Honey said: "I'm so excited to be working as ambassador for Street Child. I'm delighted to be able to help raise awareness of such an important charity, and help some of the most vulnerable children in the world.
"What many don't know is that the struggle for Ebola-affected children isn't over and it won't be over until all the Ebola orphans are in a secure home and back in school, getting the education they deserve.
"I'm honoured to be working with Street Child to help give Ebola-affected children an education, and a future."
With the medical crisis of Ebola now moved on, our Legacy of Ebola Appeal aims to engage the UK public with the growing humanitarian crisis affecting tens of thousands of children affected by the disease. The appeal aims to help 20,000 children affected worst by Ebola, supporting them on their journey from destitution to a secure, sustainable life at home and in school.
Tom Dannatt, Street Child’s CEO, commented: “The recent news that Sierra Leone has been declared Ebola-free is undeniably positive, but the reality is that the crisis does not end here. It ends when the last Ebola orphan is safe within a secure family unit and has the chance to go to school.”
“Our Legacy of Ebola Appeal hopes to ensure that, even as the region moves on from the medical aspect of the Ebola crisis, the UK public remain aware and ready to support the affected children that the virus has left in its wake.”
