STREET CHILD RELEASES REPORT FOLLOWING EBOLA ORPHAN BRIEFING AT THE HOUSE OF LORDS
Street Child hosted parliamentarians, the media, diplomats and donors at the House of Lords last week to deliver a briefing on the growing impact of Ebola on vulnerable children in West Africa.
With statements from Sierra Leone's Minister of Social Welfare, Gender & Children's Affairs; our own Sierra Leone Country Director, Kelfa Kargbo; and Chloe Brett, Street Child's Programme Director recently returned from Liberia; the event was hosted by Street Child's Chief Executive, Tom Dannatt.
The briefing focused on Street Child's concerns surrounding the broad - and potentially dangerous - under-reporting on the numbers of children currently orphaned by Ebola, and what needs to be done to ensure a consolidated response to this expanding humanitarian crisis.
