At an event at the Ministry of Gender in Monrovia on Monday 11th November, our in-country charity partner Street Child of Liberia publicly launched the new NGO's plans to bring Street Child's successful model of work to a brand new nation. With 200 children already supported into school and another 200 identified, we can look forward to some great work being done to help even more street children in West Africa!

“Our goal is to try to replicate the kind of impact here in Liberia that Street Child has already achieved in Sierra Leone,” said Michael John Bull, who has been seconded from Street Child of Sierra Leone to help set up our projects in Liberia.

“We believe that every child deserves the right to live in a safe, secure home and the chance to go to school. It is a sad reality that, for many children living on Liberia’s streets, these basic rights have until now been unattainable. Street Child of Liberia’s aim will be to help change that fact, both here in Monrovia and eventually throughout the country.”

Street Child of Liberia will be closely supported by Street Child here in the UK through funding and training to help build the capacity of this new Liberian organisation.
