TEAM LIBERIA BEAT EGYPT 7-1 AT THE STREET CHILD WORLD CUP

Team Liberia continued their fantastic form with a 7-1 win over Team Egypt today at the Street Child World Cup in Rio. Our 9 boys from Monrovia have been gaining media attention throughout their time in Brazil, playing some impressive football and having great attitudes on and off the pitch. The win puts Liberia on six points in the league table: their next game is crucial, as the winner will progress to the knockout round.

Team Liberia will face host nation Brazil in this afternoon's final group game. Brazil away (for a place in the quarter-finals) – does football get any tougher... or any more exciting?!

The Evening Standard reported last week how Team Liberia had the support of former-Chelsea legend, Gianluca Vialli. However, if ever a team needed all the support going, it is this group of former street children with a passion for football - taking on the world's most successful footballing nation in its own backyard. We’ll be updating Team Liberia’s blog after the match, where you can follow their progress throughout the tournament. Go Team Liberia!
