Last Saturday around 30 brave supporters spent the night sleeping on the streets of London to raise money for Street Child. Luckily for our fundraisers, the weather was on our side and it was a great (if slightly uncomfortable!) evening, with everyone enjoying a traditional meal of jollof rice and fried plantain before settling onto their cardboard for the night. We also watched a powerful and moving short film about our work with kids on the streets of Waterloo, Sierra Leone – you can watch it here.
With the UK government doubling all donations until the end of our Every Child in School appeal, our fundraisers managed to raise an incredible total of close to £15,000, which will allow Street Child to support over 75 children permanently off the streets and into education.
