Take on the unforgettable Sierra Leone Marathon

The start line of the Sierra Leone Marathon - the African challenge in support of Street Child

Race through stunning scenery and meet the children your fundraising supports

The race that combines some of the most stunning scenery in West Africa with the kind of atmosphere that only Sierra Leone can offer will return to the streets of Makeni on 28th May 2017.

The Sierra Leone Marathon is a unique event in that everybody that travels to participate is united in a common fundraising goal: to support the projects of UK charity Street Child. Whilst on the ground, you will be given the opportunity to visit, meet and draw inspiration from the very children you've been fundraising for - some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

High Fiving children during the Sierra Leone Marathon,

Winding through tropical forest and local villages, this unique footrace is one you'll never forget.

The Sierra Leone Marathon route takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in northern Sierra Leone. With an electric atmosphere, whether you chose to walk, jog or run you will be welcomed by local people and high-fived by children along the route.

"RUNNING IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY WITH ALL THE VILLAGERS TURNING OUT AND SUPPORTING YOU WITH SUCH ENTHUSIASM - 26 MILES HAS NEVER SEEMED SO SHORT!" - Kerry Sutton, 2016 Marathon runner
